The award winners are selected based on data collected by TripAdvisor in 2022. This isn't the first time that Pensacola Beach has been nationally recognized. In 2018, Pensacola Beach won Florida's Best Beach, an award given by USA Today. Pensacola Beach ranked #20 on TripAdvisor's list, just one spot above Kailua Beach, Hawaii, and falling one place behind Ocean City, Maryland. Most visitors are attracted to Pensacola Beach due to the absence of crowds, the ease of parking, and the sugary white sand and emerald waters. One review mentioned "miles and miles of beach," likely referring to Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is the stretch of untouched coastline between Navarre and Pensacola Beach.
