Pensacola is known for its exciting outdoor activities such as water parks, beach days, parks, skiing, and more. In Florida, sometimes rainy days or pop-up showers occur. This could put a damper on your trip if you were looking forward to beach days or spending time outside. If you encounter some rain on your trip to Pensacola, don't worry! Pensacola also has a great selection of indoor activities to keep your group entertained on a rainy day.

1. Movies

A classic activity for a rainy day is visiting the movies. Snacking on the buttery popcorn, sneaking some candy, and sipping on an oversized drink while watching a new film is always a family favorite. Luckily, Pensacola boasts two AMC theaters that will be a perfect pass time for a rain shower. IMAX is available at AMC Bayou 15 to give you the immersive experience of the film.

2. Bowling

Are you bringing a competitive group? Bowling is always an enjoyable indoor activity while waiting out the showers. You can play countless bowling games and keep the competition going. Spend time with the family and play a few games at either DeLuna Lanes or Cordova Lanes. Both bowling alleys offer food and drink choices with weekly specials on bowling games.

3. Indoor Playgrounds

Not only are indoor playgrounds an exciting way to escape bad weather, but they also will help the kids burn off some energy! It's easy for children to grow restless on rainy days when they're stuck inside, but these indoor playgrounds will keep them active. Children and adults both enjoy indoor trampoline parks and obstacle courses to play on.

4. Shopping

Rain or shine, shopping is a must on vacation. Nothing compares to the smell of the food court, being weighed down by shopping bags, and the excitement that shopping malls bring. Pensacola's Cordova Mall and University Town Plaza have several stores ranging from department stores to boutiques and sporting goods to electronics. Cordova Mall is the largest shopping center on Florida's Northwest Gulf Coast, so it's worth checking out when you're in town. Shopping will definitely be a great pass time on a rainy day.

5. Arcades

Who can resist the nostalgic feeling of hanging out in an arcade? Pensacola offers both Virtual Reality and a classic arcade. VR allows you to escape reality and race through mazes and different environments, while UFO's provides the experience of playing old-school games and even grabbing some ice cream. If you want to show the kids how gaming was back in the day, I highly recommend hitting up an arcade.

6. Museums

In addition to from buzzing indoor entertainment options, Pensacola is known for its thriving cultural and historic district. The kids will enjoy visiting MESS Hall or the Children's Museum and learning about the history and cultural influences of the area. The Lighthouse and Naval Aviation Museum also provides some sightseeing opportunities.
